In 1992, she was appointed by Governor George Allen to serve as deputy chief of staff for legislative affairs.
After Allen’s election in 1994, she served as his aide-de-camp and executive assistant. In 1998, she helped Allen win his bid for a second term. In 2000, she was appointed by Allen to serve as deputy chief of staff and legislative liaison for his reelection campaign.
