How to wash off makeup?

wash off makeup

Makeup can change the face beyond recognition. Therefore, every woman to one degree or another uses decorative cosmetics to emphasize her beauty and hide minor flaws. However, it is extremely important to remember that makeup can be both a friend and an enemy! If you do not wash off decorative cosmetics correctly, then later, in addition to beauty, it will also bring problems to the skin. Residues of decorative cosmetics can lead to inflammation, redness, and skin irritation, as well as provoke the appearance of black spots and pimples. Therefore, all cosmetologists constantly emphasize: use PRX-T33 peeling and remove makeup with special products that wash off even waterproof cosmetics!

To this day, many women believe that decorative cosmetics are removed from the face with foam for washing. But this is a mistake. In fact, the foam should not dissolve mascara, BB cream, or lipstick, because this product has a different purpose. The cleanser cleans the skin from daily dirt, sweat, and care residues. There are other means for removing makeup, so we will talk about their types and how to choose yours.

Types of makeup remover

Today, the market is oversaturated with cosmetics, so there is plenty to choose from. Among the main types of makeup removers, 3 can be removed: micellar water, makeup remover wipes, and hydrophilic oil. These tools can be found in any store, so before you choose yours, we will consider each option in detail.

  1. Micellar water (two-phase and classic).

Marketers assured everyone that there are magic micelles that dissolve dirt and care for the skin. In fact, micelles are the same surfactants (surfactants) that are included in shampoos, soaps, foams, etc. We are talking about foaming agents that clean the surface of the skin. In cheap micellar water, the same SLS and SLES are used as surfactants. It has already been proven that these sulfates are the most aggressive to the skin and with long-term use often provoke the appearance of serious problems. Therefore, if you choose micellar water, be sure to wash it off your face with a sulfate-free cleanser! Also, be prepared for the fact that the micellar, getting on the mucous membrane of the eyes, will cause burning sensations, tearing, and irritation. Despite the wide selection of micellar, we strongly recommend giving preference to other make-up removers.

  1. Wipes for removing make-up.

A very convenient option for traveling, because there is not always access to running water on the road. Therefore, if you are in a car, plane, or train – you can use napkins. When choosing napkins, make sure that the liquid they are impregnated with does not contain alcohol, silicones, and SLS/SLES. Of course, at the first opportunity, we recommend washing your face with foam and applying a toner to restore the skin’s protective barrier. Do not abuse napkins on a daily basis. Leave them as your travel option, otherwise, your skin will not thank you.

  1. Hydrophilic oil.

Without exaggeration, this is the most effective and safe means for removing makeup. The oil dissolves even waterproof makeup, and then it is easily washed off with water along with cosmetics and dirt. The oil does not contain any aggressive components, so it does not dry or irritates the skin. With regular use, hydrophilic deeply clean the pores, while removing sebaceous plugs and black spots, and therefore it is loved by owners of oily and problematic skin. The secret of such a result is very simple because of the rule “like dissolves in like” works here. Therefore, no foam will cope with black spots better than hydrophilic oil. After using the oil, there is no feeling of tightness, film on the face, or another discomfort. The formula of the product is created in such a way that upon contact with water, the oil turns into a non-greasy white emulsion and is completely washed off the face.

Cosmetics for removing makeup should not only remove impurities but also maintain the water balance of the epidermis, as well as saturate it with useful active components. Therefore, hydrophilic oil with tocopherol and vitamin C is an undisputed favorite among other products.

  • if desired – serum;
  • cream according to skin type.

If your facial skin is of a dry type, it often peels, in the absence of moisture it can upset you with redness – you should be especially careful when choosing a make-up remover. Cosmetic milk will be the optimal solution. It does not dry the skin, suitable for delicate care. Use soft cotton pads to remove the product from the face. The next stage of facial care is toning. Tonic is a cosmetic product that performs several functions at the same time: it acts as an antiseptic, neutralizes the hardness of water, removes the remains of cosmetics and impurities that previous products could not cope with.

After you have used the toner, the final stage of cleansing follows – a cream that corresponds to your skin type is applied to the entire face. Now the face is completely free of makeup and ready for rest. For normal, oily, and combination skin, the stages of care are similar, only the means differ.
